About:
I'm Ryan Nace, a licensed architect with a passion for blending the built environment with nature. Currently based in Melbourne, Australia, I hold architectural licenses in Victoria, Texas, and Oklahoma, USA. With over 15 years of experience in both residential and commercial architecture.
My approach to architecture is rooted in three core principles:
Effective communication
Thoughtful design
Unwavering resolve
These elements, I believe, are crucial to the success of any project, regardless of scale.
My architectural interests focus on:
Materiality
Durability
Authenticity
When I'm not designing, you'll often find me exploring architecture in Melbourne and during my travels. I'm particularly inspired by successful adaptive reuse projects and timeless designs that challenge conventional thinking.
I'm constantly asking: How can we improve upon traditional architectural methods and programs?
My work is influenced by some of architecture's greatest minds, including: Le Corbusier, Carlo Scarpa, Frank Lloyd Wright, Mies van der Rohe, E. Fay Jones, Louis Kahn, Glenn Murcutt, Richard Leplastrier, Peter Stutchbury, and Brit Andresen.
Let's create spaces that seamlessly integrate with their surroundings and stand the test of time.
I acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung as the traditional custodians of the land we use to work and create. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters, and culture. We pay respects to elders past, present, and emerging.
